Shand Carbon Test Facility

This building is the first of its kind using Hitachi’s patented carbon capture process and Absorber and Desorber designed to capture emissions from the coal-fired power plant. This test facility will allow for SaskPower and Hitachi to collect and analyze vital data, of the process, to aid them in studies for the advancement in more efficient carbon capture technologies and the applications on a commercial scale around the world. The advancement in this technology will not only benefit the environment, but will also benefit other applications in other industrial sectors.
